Tips

We can’t get together at the farm without Marie’s famous guacamole. And I’m not just saying that because she’s my mother-in-law! She makes it fresh, and she makes it good. All of us are always dancing around her in the kitchen whenever she makes it, waiting for her head to turn away so we can sneak a taste. Sorry, Marie (not really).

Marie’s no-fuss guacamole recipe is always loaded with jalapeños and lots of fresh garlic. Everyone in the DiSomma family LOVES garlic, so we go big. That means it goes in the guac, too. I even ask for it when I go to a restaurant. No shame—a lady likes what she likes!

We also always make two batches… it just so happens that the guys like theirs spicier, so we do a mild batch and a hot batch for them by adding more jalapeños. And then, we eat it on EVERYTHING. Eggs. Toast. Tacos. Chicken sandwiches, salads, tamales, and of course, chips. Avocados are super nutritious and full of healthy fats, so you can eat it on everything without a second thought. That’s my philosophy and I’m stickin to it.

This creamy guacamole is bound to be one of your new favorites. Want to get a little bit fancy with it? Serve it alongside my Carne Asada and Arroz con Leche in a molcajete dish (a traditional Mexican mortar made of coarsely textured stone) or your favorite beautiful bowl.
