One of my favorite summertime pies is “bumbleberry pie.” Although an actual bumbleberry does not exist, the bumbleberry pie sure does. Basically, a bumbleberry pie is fruit pie made with at least three different berries: I like to use blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries but feel free to throw some strawberries into the mix as well. And if it’s cherry season, pit a few fresh cherries and throw those into your bumble of mixed berries. (Though not a “berry,” cherries nonetheless make a great addition to this glorious fruit filled pie.) My rule of thumb is to have 6 cups of whatever berries you fancy.
